Laurie started yoga as cross-training and injury prevention for running. She found that yoga not only allowed her to run faster and longer, but also kept her joints and muscles healthy. After several years of practice in various styles of yoga, Laurie completed her 200 hour training in Ashtanga Vinyasa at Infinite Yoga in San Diego, California. Laurie also completed 300 hours in advanced yoga studies at the Asheville Yoga Center. She also has specialized training in pre- and post-natal yoga, restorative yoga, yoga for seniors, and therapeutic elements of yoga.

 

In addition to her yoga practice, Laurie runs and is an assistant cross country coach. She also has a Master of Arts in German Studies and teaches German at Bellarmine University.

 

Laurie is the owner and founder of Yoga Baum Yoga School and offers workshops and 200-Hour Yoga Alliance approved yoga teacher trainings in Louisville, Kentucky.



Laurie LeCompte instructs the following:
  • All Level Flow
  • A slower, more intentional progression of postures linked together with breath for an intense, yet relaxing physical practice. This class is great for beginners to gain familiarity with Vinyasa classes, but also a solid workout for experienced practitioners. All Level Flow brings the entire body and mind into balance and is appropriate for all levels and a great place to begin and deepen your Vinyasa practice.

  • All Level Flow is a slower, more intentional progression of postures linked together with breath. This class is great for new students to gain familiarity with Vinyasa classes, but also a solid workout for experienced practitioners. It’s a truly balanced experience of intensity and relaxation. Props and modifications are offered for proper alignment and ease in the postures. This class is the perfect place to begin and deepen your Vinyasa practice!

  • Restorative Yoga with Laurie
  • Join Laurie LeCompte for a two hour long
    Restorative Yoga experience. During this practice you
    will be guided into restorative postures, incorporating
    props so that you are completely supported. In the
    supported poses, you will release tension and stress,
    and enter a calming, meditative state. Restorative
    Yoga calms the nervous system and creates the
    conditions necessary for wellness in body, mind, and
    spirit. All students will receive individual attention and
    adjustments. Students will use special props
    including bolsters and blankets. The heat will be
    turned off for this class.
