Our training is designed to ensure you can maintain your family and work obligations during the life-changing process of becoming a yoga teacher! The training runs over a three-month period beginning on January 5th, 2018 with graduation on April 1st. There are 8 weekends and 6 weeknight meetings during the training.
Unique to any Louisville-based training, Bend and Zen is committed to making this an enriched experience, where students hear and learn from diverse subject-matter experts. Internationally recognized specialists and co-authors of ‘Yoga Anatomy’, Leslie Kaminoff & Amy Matthews, have designed an online anatomy course you will have access to! This course not only fulfills the Yoga Alliance’s requirement, but goes above and beyond most 200 hour yoga programs by offering this wonderful online series to accompany the reading. And, you have access to course content for a full year. How amazing!
Leading the yoga history and philosophy lectures is Frank Jude Boccio, a certified yoga teacher and a teacher of Zen Buddhism ordained by Korean Zen Master Samu Sunim. Frank's book, 'Mindfulness Yoga: The Awakened Union of Breath, Body, and Mind' is a groundbreaking text that integrates yoga and meditation and is a required text for the training. Frank is also an interfaith minister and long-time student of Thich Nhat Hanh.
